Band Camp 2022 – Important Information

Hello Husky Pride people! We are now just over one week away from our stay at Camp Tontozona. With that in mind, this update will serve as the final information blast before we meet at Hamilton on Monday the 20th.

We will have a parent meeting in the band room Friday, June 17 at 6:30 PM. The meeting will primarily be to collect outstanding paperwork and discuss information relating to band camp in greater detail. We encourage and prefer that you all attend the meeting, and bring your child’s outstanding paperwork with you. That will give us a few days to sort and file it in preparation for camp. Camp fees are due before camp. Please use the online payment method (instructions on the Parents page) or take your payment to the bookstore. Bookstore summer hours: M-Th, 10 AM – 12 PM.

Drop-off for camp will be at Hamilton HS at 5:30 AM on Monday, June 20. Buses leave at 6:30 for Camp Tontozona. Please ensure that your child eats breakfast; they will not eat again until lunch at noon. A healthy snack for the bus is permitted.

Parents should plan to arrive at Camp Tontozona between 11:30 and 11:50 AM on Saturday, June 25. The parent performance will begin promptly at 12:00 PM, on the lower field. Please consider carpooling where possible; there is somewhat limited parking at the camp entrance. As a reminder, all students must have their own ride back from camp. The buses are only taking us to camp; they will not be there to return. A map of the route to Camp T is linked at the bottom of this post.

Forms needed by band camp:

1.) Student Information/AIA physical forms (found on Parents page, navigate above)

2.) Camp Tontozona Liability Waiver – One (1) required per student and parent chaperone attending camp. Please have your student sign on the first line; for students under the age of 18, a parent/guardian must also print and sign their name below. This form must be turned in physically, as we hand it to the camp when we arrive. Please don’t send it as a pdf.

Go Huskies!

After two weeks of Fall Break, things are back in full gear. This week the Husky Pride has regular rehearsals on Monday and Thursday. Due to cooling temperatures in the valley, evening rehearsals will be shifted an hour to 5:00-8:00 PM. On Friday, the band will support the football team at home against the Desert Vista Thunder. Our Husky Pride Senior Night will be that evening as well (schedule below).

On Saturday, October 16th, the Husky Pride will compete down the road at Basha High School for the 2021 ABODA Basha Invitational. Below you will find the performance schedule, as well as the band’s schedule for the day:

Thank you to our wonderful parent community for your help in Flagstaff this weekend. We had a great group travel with us to feed, volunteer for, and cheer on the kids. The band couldn’t do this without you!

Let’s have another great week Huskies!

Contest Season is HERE Huskies!

As we come off the first week of our Fall Break, the Husky Pride Marching Band is putting in some much-needed rehearsal time at Mini-Band Camp. The week will culminate in our first contest of the year, NAU Band Day up in Flagstaff on October 9th! The marching band has been practicing hard, and now it is time to get some feedback from some professional judges so they can continue to strive to be the best band Hamilton has ever seen.

Below are the schedules for the away football game @ Chaparral and NAU Band Day. These Schedules are also posted under the “Parents” tab.
